Yay! It's the weekend. And it's gonna be a jolly great one at that...
Jo'burg burning is this weekend. If you don't know what that is, let me explain. Jo'burg burning is a flippen awesome event held in Melville. They have 5 venues and over 30 bands playing their sweet beats. You grab a time table and make a plan of which ones you wanna see. The organizers supply mini vans to transport you from one venue to the next - that is one of the best parts of the whole event, jamming with all the nice people in transit to your next destination! The boys and I are gonna have the best time and have been look forward to this for a few months now.
Sunday is my favorite day of the week - ♥RIDING♥! Mellie and I are learning Western style. The photo's above are of me and the late my Stormy Skies. Bless his sole. I'm riding English style in those photo's. I must have been about 15.
This weekend was one of the loveliest I have had in such a long time. It started with the usual Saturday morning shop. I put the finishing touches to my moms present, framed and wrapped it. Sunday, Mel & I went for our lesson. When I got back home I went to wish my moms and give her her gift (which she loved and I will post tomorrow). Then I got baking and roasting for the picnic at the POLO on Monday.
We all met at our house and went from there to the Ingwenya Country Estate. I got the wrong directions and we got so lost but what a pretty place to get lost in.
Yes! here we are at the polo - finally. We ate fabulous food and drank champaign and watched these amazing horses and horsemen do there thing and it was the coolest thing I have ever seen. I am so gonna make it my life mission to learn this game. It's so fast and the horses get so excited, like a dog after a ball, no lies. amazo!
Just a quick note to say hi and let you know that I have not forgotten about you. I am happy to announce the evil DSTV novelty has worn off and I am so fully back to my creative-self again!!! YAY! Things are fun and busy and crazy! I have loads of material for posts but, alas, I cannot share as yet. All the stuff I am planning is going so well and I am so excited to share. Mel's bridal shower is going to be something to remember and I am documenting but you'll have to wait until it's over to see the amazingness! obviously. hehe.
I finished my love tree and will post it on Monday because I am gonna give it to my moms for her birthday on Sunday. She's a sentimental fool just like me!!! & loves handmade way more than anything I could buy her.
I love giving handmade's because I don't believe in giving frivolous gifts, especially to the people I really love. All gifts given on my part are well thought out and have a lot of attention to detail plus I totally got to break out the new watercolour set she got me for Christmas. I just ♥ giving - spending the time and making the effort and poring loads of love into something that will be cherished forever, possible, passed down for generations to come. NICE!
Talking of handmade, I have found a sensational indie blog called "a beautiful mess" filled with loads of DIY treasures. Elsie is the business and amazo hands-on clever! *LOVE SIGH* She is running a super giveaway at the mo and is definitely worth a gander!
This everyone is one of the most awesome women in the world. My amazingly beautiful and artistically talented mother. Hi Mom...
So tomorrow I am going to do some pottery lessons, flippen finally. YAY! I am drawing inspiration from skermunkil and some of my favorite illustratorts Matte Stephens, Ally Moon and maybe a little Jessica Dooyle thrown in there for good measure.
Sunday morning is the weekly riding lesson - NICE! and then off to see the tailor for Mel's dress.
